Research peptide documentation review checklist
Use the same 15 fields for every lot-linked document. The checklist captures what is present, preserves what is missing, and keeps a result from being interpreted beyond its stated method.
Checklist sections
Connect the document to the exact material
Start with the fields that prevent a report from being attached to the wrong product or lot.
- 01 · Product nameMatch the full catalog, vial, and document names.
- 02 · Labeled strengthMatch the exact strength or selected variant.
- 03 · Lot or batch identifierCopy it exactly and confirm it appears on the connected records.
A close name, different strength, or neighboring lot is not a match. Keep the document separate until the issuer or supplier resolves the discrepancy.
Record who issued the document and when
- 04 · Issuing organizationRecord the laboratory or organization named on the document.
- 05 · Report or document IDCapture a unique report, task, or certificate number when provided.
- 06 · Analysis dateRecord the analysis or issue date exactly as shown.
Do not infer that the seller and testing organization are independent. Record the named source and any relationship the document actually states.
Keep the analysis date, report issue date, and your review date distinct. If only one appears, name that date correctly and mark the others as “not supplied.” A recently downloaded document is not necessarily a recent analysis.
Separate the measured attribute, procedure, result, and criterion
- 07 · Measured attributeIdentity, purity, content, or another explicitly stated attribute.
- 08 · Analytical procedureLC, HPLC, MS, LC-MS, or another named procedure—without guessing.
- 09 · Reported resultCopy the value or finding with its units or stated basis.
- 10 · Acceptance criterionCopy the limit or range only when the document supplies one.
One test name should not be used as shorthand for several conclusions. The companion HPLC and LC-MS guide explains which questions common procedures address and where their limits remain.
Capture the underlying output and verification route
- 11 · Attached outputNote whether a chromatogram, spectrum, or other supporting output is included or referenced.
- 12 · Verification pathRecord a source URL, QR code, task ID, or verification route when available.
An absent attachment or verification route is a fact to record, not automatic proof that a document is false. The correct next step is a focused request for the missing evidence.
Preserve limitations and the review trail
- 13 · Scope limitationNote attributes the report does not measure or establish.
- 14 · Mismatch or follow-upDescribe any missing detail and the clarification requested.
- 15 · Reviewer and dateRecord who completed the review and when.
The checklist is an organizational aid. It does not validate a laboratory procedure, certify a material, or replace an institution's quality system or review requirements.
Use “not supplied” for absent information and “clarification needed” for unresolved differences. Do not turn a blank cell into “passed,” treat a historical report as a current lot record, or call a document authenticated solely because it has a logo or QR code.
Keep the original document and any corrected version linked to the same review trail. The peptide lot traceability guide explains how to separate product, lot, order, sample, and report identifiers.
Download once, create one row per field
The CSV opens in Excel, Google Sheets, Numbers, and most laboratory information tools. Keep the original file as a blank master, then save a separate copy for each reviewed document or import the fields into your existing record system.

Peptide documentation review checklist
15 fields across lot linkage, document identity, methods, results, evidence, and review.
The checklist is an original Bio Peptides Labs worksheet informed by the analytical vocabulary in ICH Q2(R2), FDA analytical-procedure guidance, FDA/ICH Q6A, and NIST chromatography and mass-spectrometry references. Those sources have their own regulated or institutional scopes; this tool does not claim regulatory equivalence or compliance.
Educational and recordkeeping use only. No dosing, administration, medical, or diagnostic guidance is included.
Use source definitions without implying certification
FDA/ICH Q6A distinguishes tests, analytical procedures, and acceptance criteria in its drug-quality scope. The analytical guide's primary references explain the basis and limitations of the checklist's vocabulary. These references do not approve or certify this worksheet, supplier, or catalog material.
